The Tourism Business Council of South Africa has released a new set of Covid-19 protocols for local tourism industry operations.

The protocols align with the WHO, NICD and DoH guidelines and advice, and will be revisited as required on an on-going basis. They cover customer information, PPE, physical distancing, and sanitisation and hygiene practices, among others, for staff and customers.

"We are confident that these extensive protocols enable the travel, tourism and related industries to operate safely as COVID-19 restrictions are eased. Our businesses will be among the safest places to be," the Council said in a statement. "The protocols address all the acknowledged risk areas related to travel and tourism."
